Lowe’s Recycling Centres

Minimize your impact on the environment by bringing your paint, batteries, lightbulbs, and  fluorescent tubes to one of Lowe's Recycling Centres for safe disposal.

Don't Throw It Out. Bring It In.

Check out your local Lowe’s to take advantage of free recycling services for household items like unused paint, expired batteries, light bulbs, and fluorescent tubes. We’re committed to minimizing the impact we have on the environment and our goal is to prevent these items ending up in landfills. Help us impact the environment in a positive way.

Join us in building a better planet by bringing us the following recyclables:

Single Use Dry Cell Batteries

You can bring in your old lithium primary batteries, household primary batteries (AA batteries, AAA batteries, 6 volt batteries, etc.), and button cells (those sold in hearing aids, watches, etc.).

Rechargeable Batteries

Take positive action. Bring us your used rechargeable batteries and we'll ensure they're properly recycled. We can accept the following battery types:

  • Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd)
  • Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH)
  • Nickel Zinc (Ni-Zn)
  • Lithium Ion (Li-Ion)
  • Small Sealed Lead (SSLA/Pb)

Used Paint Collection

Don't leave a mark on the environment. Let us properly recycle your old latex and oil and solvent-based paints and coatings, including:

  • Tinted or untinted stains and primers
  • Paints and coatings for household use
  • Paints in aerosol containers

*Please note that we cannot accept paints containing pesticides, containers exceeding 23 litres in volume in Alberta and 25 L in volume in other provinces, and bitumen-based driveway or roof coatings and sealers.

Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) Bulbs

Here's a bright idea. Bring your used CFL bulbs to us where we'll dispose of them safely. Since they contain mercury, CFL bulbs should never be thrown out with regular household waste. Take your used light bulbs into any Lowe's and simply deposit them into our recycling bin.*

Please note that light sources such as halogens, incandescent bulbs, spotlights, and High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps cannot be accepted.
