For the longest time, we felt that as long as you had a spot to sit on the dock it didn’t matter what the space itself looked like because we were in nature. WRONG. With a simple trip to Lowe’s, we created what we now call our personal oasis!
We wanted to make sure we didn’t lose the feeling of being in nature, but also that we considered all the little details of our decor. We picked up a few different sized terracotta pots, spray paint, an outdoor rug, plants, a set of wicker chairs that were paired with a side table, and even a cutlery caddy.
Details, details, details. I started by spray painting the terracotta pots. I love that these pots are reasonably priced, which leaves some wiggle room in any budget to add some spray paint and give them a personal touch. We went with a white and grey colour scheme so when we do move the pots inside in the colder months they will match our decor. However, it wasn’t the easiest choice when you have a huge selection to choose from! All of our plants and succulents were also purchased from Lowe’s Garden Centre, and they do not disappoint!
If DIY isn’t your cup of tea, there is always a large variety of planters in various sizes. I also picked a copper planter with the most incredible indentation detailing on the side for a little bit of variety, because I need variety.
Since we love to eat outside whenever we can, I am always looking for things to make the set up easy and cute. I found the most amazing cutlery caddy, which also has an extra spot for straws. Of course, we only use paper straws because we try to be as eco-friendly as possible. Fortunately for us Lowe’s carries a ton of eco-friendly products and we were also able to grab an eco-friendly cleaning agent to use on our new outdoor furniture, including the most amazing conversational set! The chairs are made from a very sturdy wicker and the table is also solid. The cushions that came with the set are for outdoor and bright red really giving us a much needed pop of colour in all of the greenery!
Last but not least, to bring everything together was the most gorgeous jaw dropping outdoor rug. Ready folks, it was gray and white, our absolute favourite! It helped pull the space together and create this perfectly styled oasis or our dock.
