Versatile and easy to use
By from Mississippi on Oct 29, 2015
My title speaks for itself. The sliding feature, laser line and compound miter feature make this saw a home run. The only downside is with crown moulding wider than 3.5" the fence is a little short for cutting on the 45 simple miter. Other than that, no complaints.

good saw for the money
By from pennsylvania on Oct 29, 2015
saw is well worth the money .got it on sale for 89 dollars so even better deal, was on the money all the way around, will be using mainly for trim and laminate flooring and occasional 2x4 , as others have stated the dust bag doesn''t do the best job but then I rarely use it , if need be I hook up a shop vac to the saw , does a lot better and I''m old school I guess as I never use the laser, did try it but removed the batteries .over all I would recommend this saw for any DIY or even a back up for a contractor

Price is Right

The saw works well for what you pay for it; bigger saw''s are nice but can be overkill. It comes fully assembled and ready to go out of the box, all you need to do is attach the dust bag if desired. The saw dust bag actually works but fills up quickly. The blade that comes with it is okay; it''s carbide tipped and good for rough cuts but I wouldn''t use it for anything fine. On the topic of the blade, what I find most useful is it takes the same size and 5/8" arbor as your (and my) average circular saw. So you can get a good blade without spending a small fortune. It doesn''t weigh much and will move slightly if not secured to a base. The clamp that comes with it can only be used on the left mount, on the right the motor bumps into it. I could give or take the laser, I haven''t been able to get used to it and work faster without. So far I''ve had the saw for about a week and have used it to build some shelves in my garage, it has worked well for that. Other than what I''ve already mentioned the only observation I would like to add is this is 9 amp saw. The rip fence will accommodate a much larger piece of lumber than you should be cutting on a regular basis. A 2x4 is about all I would feed this; otherwise I think you could burn up the motor if you regularly cut larger lumber. Good saw for the price but don''t think you''ll frame anything larger than a shed without burning it up. For trim and general handyman task''s it should hold up.

Great light weight miter saw
By from Gretna, LA, USA on Oct 14, 2015
I bought this wondering if the lower amp and small blade would be enough to do well with my DIY projects. Not only did it cut 2x1 like a hot knife through butter but it showed no signs of struggle on doing 4x4s (due to blade size gotta flip it over which isnt big deal w/ me as i dont work w/ 4x4 too often). The laser is very accurate, even though I would prefer it to light up on the other side of the blade as well. Because it''s 9 amp, i dont have to worry about my circuit breaker popping when running the vaccum at the same time. Also the size makes it easy to store and set up. The bag doesnt collect a whole lot, much better than nothing, but I hook the vaccum up and it does much better at collecting the dust.

Real Good Saw.

One of the best saws for a home workshop that I''ve ever used. Well made, light weight, cuts an 8" board, and the dust chute actually works. Read and follow the setup guide and you will love it too!

Good saw for price.
By from Castlegar, BC on Oct 03, 2015
Bought the saw as a flooring saw. Square the saw before you use it. Make sure you buy a quality blade as well. Makes all the difference.

I wanted to like it!
By from Northern Michigan on Oct 02, 2015
I am not a big tool person and don''t do a LOT of wood work. I can usually get by on most cutting with a handheld circular saw and table saw. So, I did not want to spend a couple of hundred dollars for large miter saws I would not use a lot. I decided to try this compact saw, which was on sale, for those times when this would make the work go faster and more accurately. Used it the first time in June 2014. Seemed like it would be fine for my use. The laser was not accurate and did not work at all by the third time I used it, but otherwise it was good enough and I made a simple base to mount it on and use on top of some saw horses. So, for one year it worked well, cutting knotty pine siding and pine door and window trim for a new sunroom, and two fairly small exterior deck projects. Mostly cut 1x5 siding, 2x4 framing and 1 1/4 x 6 deck boards, plus a few 2x8 joists. I used good blades and cleaned the saw after each major use. I knew it was not a Makita or Dewalt, so I tried to be sure it was not worked too hard. Today, while making the last cut for a handrail, clouds of blue smoke came out of the saw. I removed the blade, took the brushes out, checked them (one was slightly pitted on one corner#, blew out any dust, and replaced them. Turned the saw on with no-load #no blade), and more smoke came out. I will return it for a replacement, but hope they will give store credit toward a different saw.

A Pleasure To Own And To Use
By from Montana, USA on Aug 17, 2015
I have no regrets not waiting for it to go on sale. Top notch quality throughout; pre-assembled; and pre-aligned straight out of the box. 90 & 45 degree adjustments and their corresponding pointers were on target as where the miter angles, scales, and pointers, fence squareness and cutting depth - everything already pre-aligned and right on the mark. The laser too is perfectly aligned, just cut with the board''s measured length to your right. Or don''t use the laser at all - left or right, just know where to cut. The saw also comes with a 40T carbide-tipped blade already installed that’s cutting through 2x6 PT with no effort at all; and the slide action is as smooth if not smoother than any of the ''big boy'', brand-name, miter saws that I tried. The motor has power to spare and the noise really isn''t that loud; and the blade stops turning in under seven seconds when the trigger is released. Plastic parts used as knobs don’t matter because they’re used where not much torque is needed for secure an action. As for the dust bag issue, heck with that.. I''ve got a power tool that''s not only built to last, it does its job and does it well.
