Get the lush, green lawn your landscape deserves with fresh sod!
Sod is a perishable product, so treat it with care. Always make sure to
store sod in the shade and sprinkle with water in hot or dry weather.
Begin immediately after delivery. Rake the soil and sprinkle with water to prep the surface, ensuring
there are no low areas. Fill holes with topsoil to avoid gaps between the soil and the sod. Lay the first
roll of sod along your sidewalk or curb in a straight line. Then continue to lay sod in a brick work
pattern, staggering the edges of each row of sod.
Place your next roll beside the first row. Unfurl the turf tightly beside the first row of sod as you go,
ensuring there are no gaps. When sodding a sloped area, lay the sod horizontally;
stake the sod if necessary.
After all the sod has been laid, roll your new lawn with a lawn roller filled with water.
Roll to remove air pockets and to ensure your sod makes good contact with the soil.
If extremely dry, wet the newly laid sod before rolling.
Note: A dense healthy lawn is the best weed control as the weeds have no place to get started. If your neighbours or your previous lawn had insect problems, check your lawn regularly as control measures may be necessary.
