Q: How do I register my product?

To register your Lowe's Protection Plan, start by clicking the Register My Plan or call 1-866-46-LOWES (56937). The store receipt includes the information that you will need to register, so please have your original purchase receipt available before you begin the registration process. The receipt will include Store, Register, Transaction and the Lowe's Protection Plan Summary where you will find your Plan Reference number(s). An easy to follow step--by--step approach will help you locate the information you need. Once you have registered your Plan, we will automatically update our database with your registration details. All registration information is treated as confidential.

Q: Do I have to register my plan as soon as I purchase it?

We strongly suggest you register your Lowe's Protection Plan. By doing so, your information will be readily available to our support team, which allows us to provide you with faster and more convenient service. If you choose to register your plan online, we offer you a convenient option to upload your scanned receipt for safe keeping in the event you need to file a claim.

Q: Do I have to register my plan to file a claim?

Yes, your Lowe's Protection Plan must be registered prior to filing a claim. However, if you did not register you Lowe's Protection Plan at the time that you initially purchased it, you may do so at any time by calling us at 1­-866-46-­LOWES (56937) or on this website by clicking Register My Plan.

Q: Today I purchased a Protection Plan at my local Lowe's, but I'm unable to register it online?

You should be able to register your plan on-line immediately. If you're unable to register after 24 hours, please call the Lowe's Service Centre at 1-­866-46-LOWES (56937).

Q: Does it cost anything to register my plan?

No, plan registration is a complimentary service that's in place to enhance your ownership experience.

Q: How does a Lowe's Protection Plan differ from a manufacturer's warranty?

A manufacturer typically only covers defects in materials and workmanship. A Lowe's Protection Plan does this plus protects against power surges, and failures caused by normal wear and tear. And remember, a Lowe's Protection Plan covers your product for much longer than a manufacturer's warranty.

Q: How long are products covered under a manufacturer's parts and labour warranty?

Coverage periods vary by product and Manufacturer. Please refer to the Use and Care Guide that came with your product to determine the warranty information specific to your product.

Q: How can I find out if my product is still under a manufacturer's warranty?

Please refer to your manufacturer's warranty for details on length of coverage.

Q: What does a Lowe's Protection Plan cover for eligible products that cost $200.00 or more?

A Lowe's Protection Plan will restore your product to normal working condition should your covered product fail due to defects in materials, workmanship, as well as failures caused by normal wear and tear, or fails due to a power surge. Some eligible products benefit from additional coverage, please refer to the select a Product Type tab for additional Plan benefits that may apply to the product you are purchasing.

Q: What does a Lowe's Protection Plan cover for eligible products that cost under $200.00?

A Lowe's Protection Plan has you covered if your product fails due to defects in materials, workmanship, as well as failures caused by normal wear and tear, or failures due to a power surge. We will issue you a Lowe's gift card in the amount equal to the original purchase price of your product.

Q: What's not covered by a Lowe's Protection Plan

Q: Is there a time limit on purchasing a Lowe's Protection Plan?

Customers have up to 30 days after their original product purchase to buy a Lowe's Protection Plan.

Q: Why would I purchase a Lowe's Protection Plan on a water heater that costs $200.00 or more?

The manufacturer's coverage only covers parts and one year of in­home labour. Buying a Lowe's Protection Plan provides a customer who purchased a water heater with a 12-year manufacturer's warranty with 11 years of in-home labour, and if the water heater is replaced under the manufacturer's warranty or the EPP, we'll issue you a Lowe's gift card to cover the cost of the original Lowe's installation. Additionally, power surge coverage will begin at date of purchase.

Q: Is a Lowe's Protection Plan transferable?

Yes, it's transferable. Not only can you give it as a gift, but you can also sell it, and you won't be charged for transferring the plan.
