Excellent overall choice w/out breaking the bank!
By from Southern California, CA, USA on Sep 30, 2015
So I was going to get a very well priced and loaded Stainless FRIGIDAIRE model- when I discovered what only a few reviewers pointed out- Dinner plates don''t fit well and get whacked. My larger, very common, Casual Dinnerware completely blocked the rotation and my smaller less common (10 inch# fine china got scraped by the upper rack''s lower wash arm. Talk about a mind boggling design flaw! The store appliance staff was stunned and had to see it for themselves. So, just for the heck of it we rotated my dishes through every model on the sales floor. Guess what? Quite a few whacked or scraped- and some were even worse (I''m looking at you GE!#. Some were worse offenders than the FRIGIDAIRE. Some were fine- and of those that were, I settled on the BOSCH. My parents have the top of the line BOSCH that''s so quiet they had to beam a light on the floor so you know it''s on. It''s been absolutely trouble-free, and does an amazing job of cleaning almost any load. In the first several loads with this dishwasher- it''s not really that different- just fewer bells and whistles and a less stylized design. It''s not as quiet, but think of it like this- this one is still supremely quiet, but the soft wooshing of water lets you know it''s on and the results let you know it still works very hard to clean your dishes of almost any mess. So, the BOSCH has excellent clearance between the lower and upper racks on either upper rack height setting. There is slightly less depth #front to back) but again it doesn''t make a meaningful reduction in loading ability. That said, the racks are quirky, but with a little creativity you''ll find you can load just about anything you did before, and maybe a few things you never could. My mother had a hard time adapting to the rack style, and griped a lot at first. However, they have grown on her. She loves how quiet her BOSCH is and the consistently sparkling results. Here are some hints: A: READ THE OWNERS MANUAL. B: Experiment and Choose the best Detergent- with Enzymes. C: Use Rinse Aid- and adjust for best results. D: Tweak the Extra Dry Heat Option. E: Read A again. In the owners manual you''ll learn how to adjust the drying mode at the end of all cycles such as EXTRA DRY HEAT on/off. The manual is confusing on this particular topic because in one part it suggests that if your dishes are not dry, simply select the SANITIZE option next time and all is solved. Yet in another part it mentions the EXTRA DRY HEAT OPTION SETTING as the solution. Why two seemingly different solutions to the same problem I have yet to understand. I''ve found the EXTRA DRY HEAT OPTION makes a huge difference, and it is accessed through the options menu. I have mine set to ON. Sanitizing, I''ve learned can sometimes warp dishwasher safe yet apparently sensitive plastics. My inlet water temp is coming in at 123 degrees. Also, DO NOT open the door ANY time after the cycle is well underway- reason being is that this dries using a condensation drying method. Open the door lets a huge amount of heat escape disrupting this natural energy saving drying process- and it will result in wet dishes. So resist any urge to open the door unless you have to. Note: This model has a Rinse and Hold Cycle- and I''ve found that a preferable feature. It simply gives the partial load a quick rinse and holds it until you dirty enough dishes to warrant a full load cycle. It''s much better than letting dishes sit and stink up the place waiting for a full load. Detergent choice matters! I have experimented with the top tier choices recommended by Consumer Reports, and through that, I''ve settled on a couple that seem optimum for our water type. From those I buy what''s on sale. I had the all too common white residue issue after manufacturers were forced to reformulate excellent products out of existence. The best detergents eliminate this problem and JET-DRY only helps. So don''t skip the rinse aid! I do not have a water softener- but I can tell you from experience I prefer having one. So in closing, word to the wise- bring a dinner plate with you when you shop, load it in a couple places like you would normally and give that upper wash arm a spin. Yes, you may feel a bit silly with your dinner plate inside the store, but it''s better than finding out they don''t fit well after delivery! So for the features, price, quality build and results- I believe this BOSCH is hands down one of your smarter choices. Just remember to read those instructions. :)

1 month now junk
By from Barrie on Sep 28, 2015
Casual Do-It-Yourselfer
Super quite great dishwasher but then after 1 month nothing but problems and error codes. Lowe''s won''t refund as past 30 day in store return policy. We bought this on sale thinking Bosch was a good name. Now wishing I would of paid more for anything but this piece of junk. Even on sale is way too much for something that only will work 1 month. Lowe''s store manager could only say "should always buy extended warranty." Thanks for not standing behind the product you sell Lowe''s!

Worse dishwasher I have ever owned
By from Smithville, TN 37166, USA on Sep 21, 2015
I finally got this DW installed earlier this year. This DW is not even worth half of its cost. It does not get dishes clean period not matter what cycle you use. All it does is throw the stuff around. I have a saying if you have to rinse before putting it in there you might as well wash your dishes by hand. Loading dishes is a pain and some just tip over. If you load it to capacity most do not come clean. There is only one soap dispenser cup. You cannot use the sanitize on all wash options, you have to run the longer ones to use it. It still smells like DW compound even after running the cycles. The rinse and hold cycle is only 9 minutes, please, that is useless. The interior is SS and starting to rust already. I had another brand that puts this DW to shame and it was over 10 years old when I moved. Terrible machine. Quiet is the only thing that works on this DW. If I could take it back I would most definitely do that and get the other brand. Too many cons to list them all.

door keeps popping open during washing cycle
By from Ann Arbor, MI, USA on Sep 21, 2015
1. bought early july; 2. broke after a month of using it (we used it at least once a day but tried to use a shortest cycle ("express washing"); the problem was it ; 3. contacted lowes for this matter and later got contacted by a mechanic that a lowes representative assigned ; 4. scheduled the mechanic''s visit ; after a week the mechanic called that we need to order a part for the fix; a month passed but still waiting; 5. contacted lowe''s only to hear that they have 30day return policy on home appliance 6. regardless of all the complement it got from the reviewers, I can''t help but to give the lowest rating, based on my experience of this machine. For those who consider buying this product, please be ware of this issue. Seems like it is very common. Research first....

Cheaply made - latch doesn''t work properly - had it replaced - still doesn''t work correctly. Unit shuts off 10 or 15 minutes into cycle and I have to push the door hard to get it to finish the cycle. Nice stainless steel tub in a cheap plastic frame. Won''t buy Bosch again.

Really love our new dishwasher!
By from Surprise, AZ, USA on Sep 16, 2015
We just bought our house and it came with a 10+ year old builder quality dishwasher. We happen to find this dishwasher at our local store on closeout due to it being a re-manned unit. Being in AZ we keep our water heater turned down in the summer and this washer having a built in water heater really helps. The dishes are almost to hot to the touch after the washer is done. We can''t believe how quiet it is! With our old washer you had to turn the TV up in the next room, not with the Bosch.

Broke 40 days after installation
By from Grand Ledge, MI 48837, USA on Sep 16, 2015
Broke 40 days after installation, Lowes would not replace, A&E Factory Service ordered two parts hoping one of those might fix it in another week, Bosch says they have to let the whole thing play out no matter how long it might take. Totally unsatisfied with all three organizations, totally frustrated, will not purchase another Bosch product, and will again thing hard about any substantial purchase from Lowes for some time to come. Note above says direct my comments to their Customer Care department. They, their organization, is the maker of my current mood.
