Upgrading to hardwood flooring is one of the smartest investments you can make in your home. Or for extra durability, choose
easy-to-maintain laminate, available in both wood and the look of tile. Either way, it pays to do it right,
with convenient, professional installation coordinated by Lowe's.
Let's Get Started
No matter which flooring you choose - carpet, vinyl, hardwood, laminate or ceramic tile - the basic steps of getting started remain the same.
- Visit Lowe's, where a specially trained Flooring Specialist is waiting to help you. Your Specialist will help you select the
flooring that best suits your style, taste and budget, as well as coordinate your installation.
- Schedule an in-home visit, where your installer will measure your space to ensure an accurate fit. (A deposit is required for this measurement that will be credited toward your flooring purchase.) Your installer will note any existing damage to the walls or baseboards.
- Optional charges may apply. (Ask a Flooring Specialist for more information.)
- Purchase your flooring and installation services together.
- Your installer will call you to arrange a convenient time to schedule an appointment.
On The Job
Your installer will:
- Arrange delivery of your new flooring.
- Move normal household furniture.
- Prepare the floor for installation, including minor scraping and sweeping.
- Undercut door jambs as necessary.
- Install your flooring, including any required underlayment (where noted).
- Remove and haul away any existing flooring (except vinyl).
- Install transitions from your new flooring to other rooms.
- Clean-up once the job is done.
