Different sizes offered are very helpful
By Lowe's Guest from Spartanburg, SC, USA on Feb 12, 2015
This item is sold in both a 6 inch and 18 inch size at Lowe''s. I needed to hang a wall console that was 40 inches long. Unfortunately my interior wall studs were spaced 24 inches and I wanted at least one of the mounting screws in a stud. My solution was to purchase two 6 inch hanger brackets. It really worked out better than one long one because both ends of the console are supported and each bracket has one of the screws directly in the stud and the other used the supplied wall anchor. I did call the manufacturer''s customer service because the bracket that attaches to the item being hung had 6 holes (2 different sizes) and only 2 screws which differed from their instructions that only showed 3 holes. The manufacturer explained I had the latest version which now provides more holes allowing variations for mounting the bracket. If you have a heavy item to hang on a wall this is the only way to go.

Great for Heavy Objects...
By Lowe's Guest from Chicago, IL, USA on Aug 26, 2014
When hanging large objects, it''s often very difficult to measure how they are going to "hang". I was recently hanging a large painting (80lbs) and a friend suggested this. It was brilliant. It may put a few people out of business (in terms of hanging art), but it is that kind of solution that when you are finished with the project you stunningly say, "Why did I not think of that?"

Best way to hang heavy objects
By Lowe's Guest from Athens, GA, USA on Jun 22, 2014
I''ve used a similar homemade system for years, called a "French Cleat" I believe, to hang cabinets. Cut a 2x4 on a 45 degree bevel, attach one half to the wall and the other half to the back of the cabinet. This product is simply a smaller, extruded aluminum model designed for heavy pictures and mirrors. I would suggest to drive one of the screws into a wall stud if you''re hanging something that''s pushing the weight limit the hanger''s designed for (it''s clearly marked on the hanger package). The included bubble level is a nice feature but if you want to make sure your picture/mirror is level, you might want to use your own 2 ft. level instead. The product is simple to use and install and, in my opinion, is the best product on the market for safely hanging heavy, framed mirrors.

excellant product
By Lowe's Guest from Marana, AZ, USA on Jun 08, 2014
First time use of this type product. Very simple instructions and excellent results. The "bubble" that comes with it, to get it level, should be saved to use with other projects. I used two of the 6" hangers, for added safety, to hang a 63" long mirror.

A little expensive, but works well
By Lowe's Guest from Albuquerque, NM, USA on Jun 01, 2014
First off, this is just a metal french cleat (which are awesome for hanging heavy objects). The added level is nice so you can use one hand to hold the mount and the other to mark your holes (hanging is a one person job for with this unit). The level was held in well, so I''m guessing the reviewer who had problems with this must have had a faulty piece. I don''t understand why people had trouble getting their pieces level. Mounting the bracket to your mirror/picture/etc is the hardest part, so be careful to measure your holes with a ruler. I would also drill some pilot holes. Without these holes you could split the wood and I find screws don''t always go in straight without them (maybe this is why their objects were not level?). With some patience, most anybody should be able to hang a level mirror/picture. It is on the expensive side. You could build your own french cleat with a table saw or band saw fairly easy for a fraction of the price.

We will buy more!
By Lowe's Guest from Canyon Lake, TX, USA on May 13, 2014
We bought 2, and my husband approved and will probably use this method to hang important or heavy stuff from now on. He has already shown it and recommended it to our kids. Not cheap but handy.

best idea yet
By Lowe's Guest from Long Island, New York, USA on Mar 15, 2014
i had to hang 2 mirrors in the bathroom at the exact same height and had no idea what to do. the picture hanging wire that the mirrors were set up for is a pain. never can get the tension correct on both. these hangers were very easy. took less then 10 minutes per mirror and they seem to be up to stay. they are level and secure
