Galvanized Candle Lanterns

Decorate your patio with soft light by turning a standard metal rain cap into a pretty candle lantern in three simple steps.

Reminiscent of Danish ship lanterns, these galvanized candle lanterns stay lit on breezy nights and cast a soft glow to decks and patios. Make three or four to decorate any outdoor living space.

STEP-BY-STEP

1. Select a 3-inch galvanized drip edge from the building materials department.

2. Position a tea light or votive candle in the bottom of a clean jelly jar.

3. Turn the drip edge upside and insert a juice glass into the cylinder. Use a fireplace match or longneck lighter to light the candle.
