Easy Stamped Patio Cloth

Easy Stamped Patio Table Cloth

Soften an outdoor table with this decorative autumn-inspired, stamped tablecloth. Download our free leaf template or design your own pretty stamp pattern.

Make the Table Cloth
  1. Use utility scissors to cut drop cloth to desired length and width depending on the size of your table. Try to work around any seams in the drop cloth. Save scraps to use for practicing your stamping technique.

  2. Sew a one-inch hem around the tablecloth.

Make the Leaf Stamp
  1. Cut three 12-inch-squares from the shelf liner. Working outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, use spray adhesive to adhere the sheets together to create a 12-inch-square three-layer stack.

  2. Download leaf pattern template and enlarge to 12x12-inches.

  3. Trace the leaf pattern onto the 3-layer drawer liner stack.

  4. Cut out the leaf pattern design using a utility knife or scissors.

  5. Use spray adhesive to glue the leaf pattern to a heavy-duty 12-inch x 12-inch floor tile.

  6. Turn the tile over and use the marker to indicate the position of the leaf stem at the edge of the tile. Use this mark as a reference when stamping.

Stamp the Table Cloth
  1. Mix paint and pour into ruler tray. Saturate ruler, then roll paint onto stamp, being careful not to get paint on the tile.

  2. Practice stamping on scrap fabric to get a feel for the amount of paint and pressure to use.

  3. Lay the drop cloth on a smooth, flat surface and apply painter's tape along the length of the fabric to use as a stamping guide. Mark the tape to indicate the desired spacing between stamps.

  4. Roll paint onto stamp, then carefully position the stamp on the drop cloth and apply firm, even pressure. Repeat this process, using the marks on the painter's tape as guides.

  5. Allow paint to dry thoroughly.
