7 1/4" Kobalt sliding miter saw
By Marie from Boise, ID, USA on Mar 01, 2015
This is my first miter saw, I read the directions and started building our home bar. I love it. It''s so easy to use, very light to carry back and forth to storage. As a woman who doesn''t have much for power tools building experience, but lots of project ideas, I''m thrilled with how easy it is use.

Functional but not too safe in my experience
By Atjis from North Pole, AK on Feb 23, 2015
Bought this saw about 2 years ago and can say the saw itself cuts okay--not a lot of power, but functional for the recreational woodworker. The safety of the product and the inability to get replacement parts is where I have major issues. A few months after I bought it (and only sporadic use) the blade guard apparently vibrated loose without my noticing and wobbled enough to get hit by the blade. It shattered into several sharp pieces which went flying around my shop. Fortunately the one that hit me only hit my hand and not my face. So strike one for poor craftsmanship. I pulled out the manual and called the number listed for replacement parts. After sitting on hold for 30 MINUTES, I finally got to talk to an operator (from India?) who was friendly enough, but seemed to have trouble understanding English. I was able to give the specific part number from the manual as well the specific part name. He assured me a part would be sent out free of charge--no problem. Several days later I did get a part...the cutting guide that mounts to the back of the base. Not willing to sit on hold for another half hour only to talk to someone who evidently couldn''t understand English, I stopped by Lowes to see what my options where for getting a replacement part through them since that''s where I bought the saw. The two customer service reps I talked to in the tool department didn''t know what to tell me, but promised to look into it.They took my information and phone number and promised to call me within a couple days. After not hearing back for several days, I had to follow up with them, and when I did, they had no record of the interaction, so I started at square one again, again receiving assurance it would be looked into and some direction would be given. Same story. I eventually gave up and just removed the rest of the jagged remains of the guard from the saw and use it VERY carefully until I can afford a higher quality tool.

light weight and accurate
By Lowe's Guest from Toms River, NJ, USA on Feb 12, 2015
This is my 3rd miter saw. I have a 12 inch double compound sliding miter saw and a 10 inch miter saw. I bought this saw for ease of use and its light weight. Its small and compact so its much easier to get out and use on small jobs. I originally bought it a year ago but didn''t have my receipt. The cord pulled out of the plug on the old one. My first one needed to be aligned when I took it out of the box but this new one was square right out of the box. The laser light was also very accurate. I haven''t got one thing to complain about.

Big work in a little package
By Lowe's Guest from Elgin, SC, USA on Jan 30, 2015
I have been using this product for the past week on a daily basis and it has performed consistently every day. If you are in need of a portable light weight miter saw you can''t go wrong with this gem. You won''t be pulling a back muscle or getting a hernia moving this saw around, it is that light. The best feature is the ever accurate laser, Love this little piece of genius they put on this saw. This is perfect for any home improvement project you can throw at it. The smooth movement of the sliding miter saw feels good in your hand each time you pull it towards you. There has not been any loosening of nuts bolts or clamps on the saw, even after a ten hour day of work. The hold down clamp works great as well as the turn knob to make angle cuts. This is quite a gem for a little cash. I do have to mention the dust bag on the device....well.....it doesn''t work so hot, but then who''s afraid of a little sawdust. Just keep cleaning up after yourself....problem solved. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs to do light to medium size projects around the house, although I am using it to install 1400+ sq ft of Bamboo flooring.....so far, so good!

Kobalt 7-1/4-in Miter Saw
By Sergey P. from Midland, ON on Jan 22, 2015
Casual Do-It-Yourselfer
Purchased this one on-line. It was delivered fast. The saw table was not even with left side higher than the central part. Exchanged for another one at the local store. It looked better.
The dust collector is a joke, it almost collects no sawdust. The clamp, when mounted at the right side, is on the way when lowering the saw head. So it is most useful only when mounted at the left side. The saw is lightweight which is convenient. I have not done much with the saw yet.
