Love this miter saw. Best way to expand my tools!!
By Lowe's Guest from Palm Bay, FL, USA on Apr 02, 2014
Saw was amazing. Used it within 5 minutes of pulling in to the house. Cut through my 4x6 boards with ease. This will be my last miter saw. I do not see any need for one in the future.

the only thing I don''t like about the saw is the laser light and the adjustment for it doesn''t go close enough, I could get it 1/8 of the length. but other than that it is a great saw. and it was the first one I have bought with the laser light. I bought it to replace my old delta. so far love it

I have scene that many people who purchased this tool were complaining or disappointed with the laser features performance. Before I bought this tool I took each person''s comments to thought and decided that if I couldn''t reset the laser the price of the tool was well worth it considering I didn''t have a laser with my last miter saw. So, I bought the tool and took it home. Pull up to the shop door and unload the tool onto my workbench for assembly. Noticing that most of the reviews were correct about the laser being off I started my investigation to fix the problem. If you notice on the right side of the laser (while mounted) you will see three covers that protect the factory adjustment screws. Each one has its purpose so, let me explain how to adjust the laser. You will see two dark colored screws and in between those two is a sliver one. The top dark screw is for left to right. The bottom dark screw is for focus and the silver is for perpendicular adjustment. I would RECOMMEND to only use the top adjustment from left to right and do not move any of the others. This is what I did to fix the laser problem and it is lined up correctly. However, I do believe that Kobalt should include a remedy to the problem with new lasers or a laser adjustment section in the manual. I hope this helps.

Well worth the price
By Lowe's Guest from Rock Hill, SC, USA on Mar 03, 2014
I selected this saw to replace a 25 year old Delta that decided to retire. After reading all the reviews I could find, this one was it for my budget. I made the right decision. It has all the features I need, smooth operation, and super easy angle changes. I just hope with proper care I can make this one last for another 25 years. It is a bit heavy and bulky, which is good for stability, but not so much if one needs to move it around a lot .It does have enough grab places to pick up and carry without much chance of damaging it.

Good Saw
By Lowe's Guest from McKinney, TX, USA on Feb 28, 2014
A little shift in the slide but if you run a little slower, cuts are straight and clean Good power, and good design. Laser is a bit off, and ONLY for reference

Homeowners'' best friend!
By Lowe's Guest from Sacramento, CA, USA on Feb 16, 2014
This is a must have tool. Easily makes any cut needed. It looks intimidating to DIYers like myself, if you operate it properly, and follow all safety requirements, you will love its functions. You need this at home. Professionals, You won''t be dissapointed!

Best value in a sliding compound miter saw.
By Lowe's Guest from Chesapeake, VA on Jan 20, 2014
For literally half the price of a dewalt it has all the same features and plenty of power to even do a compound miter on a 4X6. I''ve only used it for one large project so far and I''m not a contractor so I don''t think I''ll ever wear it out. The only con is that unless it''s almost dark you can''t see the laser.

bang for the buck!
By Lowe's Guest from B.E. MN on Jan 15, 2014
I liked the quick lock fencing and wing extensions. It cut accurate out of the box. No blade wobble and slide has no play but slides nicely. Changing the blade is not too bad, but make sure to loosen screw enough so cover plate will rotate to get to arbor bolt. The manual tells you to loosen but not remove. Must loosen quite a bit. The laser is worthless but would be nice if lined up properly. Laser was way off out of box. Removed caps covering adjustment screws and adjusted so laser line stayed same thru whole action of cutting. Could only get it within a laser width of laser line when cutting. Changed blade to finer tooth than saw came with and was off more. Laser should be right on out of box. My boss brought a craftsman 12 inch sliding and his laser was right on. I looked at both the craftsman and kobalt and the kolbalt was the nicer saw for the same money and is dual bevel. The laser is why I lowered the design and quality scores. Very nice saw!
