I looked for weeks for the perfect chandelier for our dining room because I knew that it could possibly be a relatively expensive purchase, and I didn''t want to get something we didn''t really like. This chandelier is simply PERFECT! If you have a massive, super formal dining room, then it''s probably not the chandelier for you, but it is the perfect size for a regular-sized dining room. I was worried that because the globes are tinted, the light wouldn''t be very bright. However, it works with a dimmer, and at the highest setting, the light was so bright that it almost hurt to look at. It''s very sturdy, but not too heavy, and my absolute FAVORITE part is the color of it. I thought it would be a solid bronze; however, it has an "antique" finish, so it has a sort of faded look to it. It''s hard to describe, but it''s very beautiful. The tinted globes are not a solid color either; they have cracks in them to get more of that antique look. It''s both modern and traditional at the same time. Overall, I can''t think of one bad thing about this chandelier. My husband, who is pretty handy but is not an electrician or any kind of tradesman, put it up himself in about 45 minutes. If you want a gorgeous, high-quality chandelier for a great value, then I absolutely recommend this product!
Love that this fixture takes 100 watt bulbs. I like the brightness provided by fluorescent fixtures in the kitchen, but they''re ugly. This fixture is attractive and suits the general decor of my home and now provides as much light, if not more than the one it replaces, by using the daylight type energy saving bulbs. Additionally, the globes/shades face upward, so you don''t see the bulbs or have them glaring down on you.
Perhaps I got a bad product. The fixture arms that holds the glass are slanted. If you look at the glasses on the horizon at eye level, they don''t level at all. I was trying to twist the arm, unfortunately it is something that can''t be done... They are too thick and strong.
i bought this to replace a fixture that is hanging when you go upstairs which have a high ceiling and i can not reach to change the bulb as it was an old fixture so when the light blew it never got changed.this fixture lights up the whole stair area which has 12 stairs and it also lights up the foyer downstairs and upstairs.i had the electrician put a dimmer on and i just love the brightness and the look of this fixture,it is very warm and inviting.the electrician did not have a problem with opening the links as other reviews stated they had since he had to make sure i could reach the fixture to change the bulbs and he changed the length 3 times to make sure i could reach the bulbs.this fixture has a really cool feature that when you flip the light switch on it takes 1- 2 seconds and then the lights go on.i used the clear light bulbs 60 watt and it is brighter than the regular 60 watt bulbs
Beautiful light. Looks great installed. The nuts that hold on the decorative bottom piece were painted on so hard to remove to install that piece. Instructions refer to black and white wires but both wires were black. Found a forum online that instructed that the ridged one is white and the one with small white writing is black.
