Works fantastic. Need to include a longer duct
By Lowe's Guest from Sultan, WA on Aug 17, 2014
The duct to the window/door panel is too short for most applications. Other than that it is fantastic.

The air conditioner was very loud and did not do a good job cooling. I don''t knot how it was rated for 500 sq. ft. but the results were rigged

It saved the day!
By Lowe's Guest from Greensboro, NC on Aug 13, 2014
After my home system was out again for the second week in a row, and temperatures threatening in the low 90''s, I decided to Bite The Bullet and invest in a portable a/c unit. First, I''d hoped that the installation was relatively effortless as I didn''t want the hassle of installing a window unit. [It was!] Second, I''d hoped it was strong enough to cool the second floor of our contemporary-style house. [It did! With the help of a fan...] My a/c is fixed now, so I was thrilled that I could relocate the portable one into my garage, where I am currently storing furniture. The dehumidier will, hopefully, keep down the moisture so that I don''t find myself with a mold problem. I am quite happy with this purchase since it did exactly what I was expecting it to.

Pregnancy Lifesaver
By Lowe's Guest from Wichita, KS, USA on Jul 23, 2014
This has been a lifesaver for me during my pregnancy as I''m in the third trimester for the hottest portion of the year. Our bedroom is upstairs and in order to get it to a comfortable temperature for me to sleep, i.e. 72 degrees, the rest of the house has to be set at about 65. This is just killer for our electric bill. We had a friend suggest that we get one of these for our bedroom and it''s been wonderful. A couple things I would change about it are that it has an annoying blue light that you can''t turn off in the front and center of the unit. It''s easily covered with duct tape but then you can''t see what you have it set to and whatnot. It has an external vent that goes out through a window and it''s easy to install, but the guard you place in the window isn''t very efficient. We had to stuff a couple socks in the gaps it left between it and the window. Also, it won''t go below 72 degrees and for the size of our bedroom it would be nice if it went down to 67 or so, but it works well. I don''t think it would be very beneficial for a room bigger than 20x20 as it wouldn''t be able to cool the entire room efficiently.

It does everything that the box said it would. It is extremely easy to use. The part that goes into the window is very sturdy. Which is very good. I would recommend having a saw to trim it to fit, so you can have a clean fit.

Took care of my problem.
By Lowe's Guest from Mooresville, NC on Jul 20, 2014
In my 1000 square foot home, the whole house AC went out in mid July. It turned out to be 5 days before the parts were available for the repair. The outside temp was averaging 85 degrees. I bought this unit because it was portable and I would be able to move it from room to room depending where I was at and what needed to be cooled. The unit was easy to set up, only took 20 minutes and with the use of some pedestal fans, kept the house at 78 degrees. In the evening I would move it to the bedroom where it cooled the room to 74 degrees. The sound of the unit did not bother me since I always run a fan in the bedroom for the white noise and I like to sleep in cooler temperatures. Moving the unit from room to room only took about 10 minutes. On day 3 I went to empty the water pan, only a little water came out, I would estimate it at around a cup. Overall, the unit did well and served the purpose I bought it for. I would recommend it to others that are looking to cool a room effectively.

Almost instant cool air
By Lowe's Guest from Shepherd, MT 59079, USA on Jul 16, 2014
This was so easy to install, it took minutes and what a difference. It is fairly quiet and really puts out the cool air. It doesn''t take up much room and looks good too!
